The UPS guy arrived this morning with my copy. Sat outside with swallows swooping and hummingbirds darting everywhere around me to have a quick look see. How can I express how excited I am to own this book? I really can't adequately. I feel this godsend of a book addresses 99.5% of the questions that have nagged this self-taught photographer since day one. The thing I noticed right off was it's written in a language that is *not* above my technical grasp. I can't wait to dive into it thoroughly and am especially grateful for the workflow chapter. I don't see how I cannot improve my skills by leaps and bounds with the aid of this book. It is exquisitely illustrated and generously explained by the talented contributing photographers. Many, many thanks to every single person involved with its creation! :toast: I truely believe it is the finest "how to" book on digital photography in existence. How could it not be considering its roots? This has elevated my enthusiasm for photography to new heights. Best photography related purchase I have ever made!

Wow, Pamela. Could we hire you as our public relations representative?

Many many thanks. We are delighted that you are so pleased with it.

The Mountain Trail team did a superb job creating this new resource, and I am honored to have contributed the Forward. Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback!

My pleasure  Your premier book is stellar without question. Jim, I enjoyed your forward immensely and your image, "Ice storm", on the following page is fabulous :toast:
Ian, the review is submitted to Amazon and should be up in a day or two. So far I have officially read up to white balancing. It reads so easily and like someone else commented it's like sitting and talking with the pros in person. No small feat.

Thanks Pamela! :toast:

I just got mine too. I haven't had the chance to actually read it yet but I've scanned through some of the photos and they are all exceptional! Even if this wasn't an instructional book, and it was just a collection of photos it would be worth over double what I paid for it at amazon. The fact that it is chock full of advice from some of the most talented nature photographers around in addition to the beautiful images makes this book an absolute steal on amazon!

I am ecstatic that I finally know what to do with that DOF preview button. Now I know why it's darker when you look through the viewfinder while depressing that button. I also did not know that when you look through the lens it's at its largest aperture no matter what f stop you've chosen. This book is gold man! You guys should write the owners manuals for cameras cuz they are pretty worthless.

I whole-heartedly agree with Austin. I just received my copy of "Ultimate" today and haven't had a chance to read it thoroughly yet, but just paging through the photos was a thrill. It's worth the price alone just to see the breathtaking images by these enormously talented photographers! I own many photo books by many authors, but none compares to this one.
