Eye of the Needle
Morning sun illuminates this 45 ft. tall sandstone hoodoo that has withstood eons of countless wind, sand, snow and rain storms, yet still hangs on.
Believe it or not, this image is actually plumb although little else is out here.

What is the rough location of this site?
Interesting white layers.

Amazing formations and excellent detail here, John. Very nice work.

this is very cool! A real "plum," if you will. I'm glad you included the rough size, too, as it's so often hard to figure out from a photo whether something is 45 feet or 45 inches. (Just ask Spinal Tap!)

A beautiful sculpture by nature, John. And your capture with this light and the blue skies to complement the red is really stunning. Excellent work.

Is it me, or does that woman on the left have a sexy figure? Nice shot John!

I really like this, John. It has a nice 3D feel to it and I like the way the rocks contrast with the sky. I also think the cloudless sky is an asset to this image. Well done!

Wow, cool formation. I like the composition with the 2 sets of curving rocks.

A very cool formation that's nicely composed. This is an excellent addition to your collection of "off the beaten path" images.

You've been doing some exploring, and came away with a great comp of a very unique area. Great stuff!

Yeah, It's gotta be just down the road from Whoville.
Very cool.

That's an amazing formation. I love the colors and the saturation level, but I'm seeing a bit of a halo around the rocks in the sky.
