Anyone know of any reviews for this new lens? I'm very interested in this lens, and I'm curious if anyone has done a review yet?

Zack, I found three, but they are more announcements than reviews:

One
Two
Three

It hasn't shipped yet, so I guess we need to wait a bit longer for a real review. This site has some hands-on photos, but no real review, but evidently somebody has gotten one delivered.

Canon lens stock is really low, almost wonder what's going on. I ordered a 16-35mm a few weeks ago from Amazon and they just got one in and are finally sending it. Most other stores were out, until B&H got them in. I noticed that several lenses have been out of stock at several major stores, such as the 50mm/1.4, 100mm macro, 70-200mm/2.8, 400mm/5.6, even the 17-40mm. Is that normal for Canon?

Anyway, there should be reviews coming out SOON for the 17mm TS-E, because it's supposed to be shipping this month, even though the month is almost over.

Whew! It looks like I'm not the only one drooling over the idea of owning this lens. I just happened to be doing some hunting around the web and found this at DPR. Click the link to the original posters' Pbase site for some full rez samples. Looks pretty promising so far. I just wish there was a way to put a polarizer on that bad boy.

I noticed the same thing about some of the trusty 'ol standby lenses being out of stock too. I just assumed that it was because of the popularity of the 5D mk II. A lot of people are moving up from crop sensors, and probably upgrading their lenses at the same time. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Here's a sample image using the 17mm TSE that I just came across on the canon website... no review though, but at least an image.

Zack, I know this is MONTHS later, but B&H just released a video review. I imagine they'll be biased since they want to SELL them, but at least it's feedback.

Did you ever buy one?

Aaaaah, skip it. I should have watched it first. He talks about how the lens works, not how good or bad the image quality is.
