This turned out to be a little more difficult than I anticipated... It has been pretty breezy around here making it difficult to shot these flowers and there are so many that have bloomed I'm not sure I have the original. I used a reflector to diffuse the light same as before.

As with the others the background is simple and nicely OOF. I would like to see a little more of the petals in focus (more DOF) particularly the one in the immediate FG. I would also lose the emerging bud at the bottom of the frame.
I've been struggling with the same subject and the same stiff breeze, Matthew. I took some where I waited patiently for the wind to stop. I took other where I let the flower be thrown around by the wind. And still others I took at a much higher ISO and shutter speed that hoped would stop the action if the wind let up a little here and there. It is difficult under the circumstances of wind. I got the most shots off with the high ISO/ high ss combination. The neatest effects happened when I let the flower wave in the wind at a low ISO/ ss. I hope you keep trying.
I appreciate the input Mark and Catherine. Mark I agree more detail would be better. I'm shooting at my minimum focusing distance with the 70-200 at 200mm. I haven't found that sweet spot yet I guess. I'll keep trying though. Catherine the higher ISO sounds like a good alternative. I will try that next time. I'm afraid my flowers are about done. We have had some pretty warm weather here and there not looking so good. I hope you post some of your flowers waving in the wind. Well I'm off to go haul some hay. Its that time of year. Thanks again for your comments guys.
