I really enjoy photographing these little beauties although one day I'll manage a decent shot of the even more attractive female.
Taken in very breezy conditions. Canon 40D with Sigma 150, f10, 1/80, ISO 400.
All C+C welcomed.

Tut-tut Matt - 400iso - come on, be brave and go for a 1/20th next time
They are stunning beasties - nice one Matt, colours are great and the BG is superb - well executed shot matey

thanks both. This was not an occasion to be messing about with ISOs below 400
He only posed for around 40 seconds before he disappeared and only a couple of my shots at 1/80 were sharp despite the use of a plamp

You must be quick on the draw with the plamp Matt.
I most likely would have moved the subject on just in setting that up.
Looks pretty good to me.

Very nice esp given the conditions, hope one day we might get a windless day....
I tend to use ISO400 as a base these days...

Hello Matt.
Very nice and lovely detail. Agree with Tim and would clone out the small hole in the leaf.
