From a dismal jaunt to Bempton on Friday - too hot, too bright and not enough wind.

Trying to control the contrast was hard going so it was a question of looking for subjects not lit directly by the sun. This fella was slightly shaded but that lump of limestone was bouncing a bit of 'fill' into him - I was quite pleased to get the open beak and some proper eye colour.

It was nice to bump into Steve Kaluski and Graham Goddard too - both top chaps

Now what can I say about that harsh light...! hmmm! Not a lot really as it's a very well composed and executed shot in the conditions you were met with. Well seen and taken Andy, great stuff.

Smart looking image Andy. The rock is a slight problem but all in all it does well. :toast:

I think that's worked out well Andy, especially everything going on around the head.

Now then, I recognize that shot

Worth the wait Andy, but I still feel you should have been tethered down based on where you were sitting. The light did get better after you went, but we only stayed on for 45 mins and Graham did get a cracking Gannet in flight :frown:

The whole day was very lucrative all round and good to catch up with you & your chums. If your guy still has problems getting some 'apparel' let me know Andy :wavey: :wavey:

See you soon.

Missed each other by 48hours, I liked the sun, but then I'd just been rained on for a week in Scotland. Nice razor!

That really is a top class photo, love everything about it - like you mention Andy the open beak and the eye really do make the shot.
Nice one mate :toast:

Having spent a day there recently in similar conditions, I can understand the difficulties, but exactly as I would have expected, you have coped with them perfectly. That's just a great shot Andy.
