Common Darter II.... + exuvia...
40D, 180/3.5, tripod + BH1
ISO400, 1/60 @ f16, -2/3EV.
ACR5.3 + resize & sharpen CS4.

Hi...

Firstly apologies for not commenting a great deal over the last few weeks, have been insanely busy...

Brett beat me to it again  , however here is one that I found at the same location but a short while after, we must have walked past this one whilst it was emerging several times without seeing (and it was reletively in the open  ).

By this time the light was incredibly harsh so I attempted to soften it with a small home made hand help diffuser which accounts for the bg.

All the best

Phil

Nice work Phil, Superb level of detail throughout.. Glad you posted this because it goes double for confirming I was right with my ID.. The composition is excellent and I like the diffused light on this image..

Look forward to catching up again soon.

Kind regards,

Brett :toast: :wavey: :toast:

Oooo, ooo - now I do like this Phil - big time :toast: :toast:

Nice soft light, softer than Bretts (sorry Brett!) - you can see the diagnostic yellow leg stripe clearly

What a cracking shot, and to get the exuvia in is brilliant as it's not something I've ever seen let alone had a chance to photograph.

Superb image Phil - I hate you

that is superb Phil. It looks like this was a real challenge to get all parts of the dragon and damsel in the plane of focus but you've managed it very well. Great light and background too. Excellent.

I can see Dragons are flavour of the moment.
As commented to get all in the plane of focus etc you have done really well. :toast:
