Hawksbill Crag at Dawn
Haven't seen an image of the crag for a while so thought I would post one taken 5:30 Friday morning.

With the sunrise rising to the left actual sunrise was nothing special. Is Sept./Oct. sunrise visible while there is still leaves on the trees?

Usual setup, Cambo Wide RS, P45 DB, 72mm Schneider lens, f16, 4 seconds. Unpolarized to keep capture as much of the fog as possible. CS4 shadow/highlight to balance the exposure to what I saw.

Comments appreciated as always.

Ed - A beautiful, well-balanced image. Lovely colors and fine detail in the crag face. The fog lends it an ethereal quality. No doubt the Sun will be more visible as it approaches the autumnal equinox.

Ed, this is really nice, the clouds and fog make this special.

An extremely well composed image Ed. Even though it is hard to discern the height of the Crag, the way you composed this created a pleasing combination of rock, hillsides, fog and color. Very nice. :toast:

Now that is a well composed image all elements enhance the work.

Ed I love this image. It is one I have had in my minds eye but havent't shot a sunrise there yet how was the trail alot of damage still?

Thanks Gale. The trail was not too bad. There were 3 or 4 places where the trail was not passible but alternates around them are already pretty visible. I had a head lamp and also carried a large flashlight which I found necessary.

I wouldn't attempt it in the dark without a GPS unless you are pretty familiar. If you need the cords for the crag itself send me an email.
