From Monument Canyon Trail again in CNM.
These guys are fun to shoot (photos). It's hard to get a catch light in their eyes except right around sunrise or sunset.
I think he was watching a bird here.

This one is going for the "leopard head" look.

Thanks for looking.

Who needs a catch light when there's all that inherent color! This is another great shot, Chuck.

What Todd said.
Perfect pose! Love the tail position, and the blurred background is neat.

What a gorgeous guy! Beautiful DOF Chuck :toast: Was hoping to see some at the Comanche grasslands but no luck. Did see some cool lizards but they moved like lightning so no pix :frown:

Just lurking over on this forum (as usual) and I noticed your shot here. This is a great photo of a collared lizard. I agree that these lizards make great subjects. As long as you approach carefully, they seem to like being in front of the camera. I photographed one lizard one night for at least 30-45 minutes and it actually walked right up to me.

The only improvement that I might suggest would be a slight shift of the camera to the left to allow more room in front of the lizard. Even so, that is a very minor nit. This is a great shot.

Great capture Chuck! I really like the lizard's pose.

So how much did you pay him to pose like that? :)

Great shot! Like the low angle and the light. Nice clean background as well.

Thanks for the comments.
Bert, I threw a couple of grasshoppers his way (well, I would have if I had them).

I hope you got a model release. Looks like a bit of a diva.
