Due to the fact that there are so many web camera stores that give others a bad name I have only ever ordered from B&H and the experience has been great. That being said, I have been trying to order a 5DM2 for about a month (checking multiple times per day) with no luck. What sites do you use to order expensive camera equipment? I'm sure there are others with good customer service, but I'm scared to just guess at which ones are strong without recommendations due to the price of the purchase in question. Thanks.

RMNP member Adam Schallau is the department manager for Taos (NM) Mountain Electronics, and he can order the 5D2 for a price that is competitive with B&H.
Give him a holler at adam AT taoselectronicsDOTcom and see what happens.

An online store that I've used many, many times in the past is Buydig.com.
Check 'em out at the Reseller Ratings link above.

I like KEH- used them a few times and always had good dealings.

I ordered my 5Dmkii from Adorama, it was on backorder but they recieved shipments in MUCH faster than B&H. I always use either B&H or Adorama, never had a problem with either one.

I have used B&H, Adorama, KEH and Beach Camera and never had a problem with any of them. Occasionally Dell (yes, the computer company) has some great deals. When I wanted a 50 1.8, Dell had it much cheaper than everyone else.

I've had great luck with B&H, OneCall, BuyDig, Newegg, and KEH. All reputable. Check reselleratings too.

I'm with the majority. I've either used B&H or Adorama. If not one of those two, I always consult resellerratings.com.

For non-camera gear, I've used OneCall a number of times and always been happy.

I've used B&H, 17th St, Beach, Abes of Maine, and OneCall. B&H usually has the best prices, OneCall has had the best customer service and most knowledgeable sales people.

Believe it or not I made my recent 50D purchase through Amazon for about $200 less than B&H or Adorama, who I typically buy from.

I'll add another: Badger Graphic Sales

John, thanks for the plug! :wavey: We've been matching the B&H price and sometimes beating it.

I'll add another to the long list. Digitalfotoclub.com. They have it listed as available, but at $300.00 over B & H. Here is the link
http://www.digitalfotoclub.com/sc/search.asp?Cat_Sub_ID=707 You might give em a call and see if they will price match the competition. Never hurts to try..

I almost always use Hunt's Photo near Boston for the expensive gear. The contact I use is Gary Farber (digitalguygary(at)aol.com). They are a major vendor at all the NANPA Summits. I also have used Amazon.
