Barn owl ( C)
Taken at a recent day with Danny Green plus a group of fantastic lads. Thanks Ron and Alan for your super company as always and cracking banter.
It was an image I had wanted for some time and the assistance and patience from Vince at Gloucester Barn Owl Centre was exemplory so thank you Vince for your understanding .I have toyed with a different comp for this and not sure if the bird at the fore is correct.Cliche'd ? probably. But it was what I had in mind driving there so a result for me on the day.
D3 / sigma 500mm F4.5 WO , ISO 400 conditions sunny and hot.
CR pp CS3
Thanking you in advance.

Like it a lot Mark, those horizontal lines add a nice architectural feel to a natural image.

brilliant shot, the pose and composition are great, perhaps a cliched setting, but i've never seen it done quite like this

Hi Mark

Thanks for your guidance last Friday. Your tips about the D3 were very useful.

That DOF is very tight - just perfect.

That really is a top shot. Very different and perfectly executed.
Can't help thinking of Harry Worth when I look at this (ask somebody old !).
