This was taken on the same day in 2007 that the other picture was taken, but earlier in the trip, before the weather went South on us. Not the sharpest, most detailed picture in the world, but it is quintessential coastal Alaska to me. The sky was overcast, with rain squalls I could see ahead of us. Again, I took this off the fantail of a bouncing boat, handheld, so forgive any motion blur you might see.

Phil - This reminds me of a recent kayak trip I took, during which we saw about a billion eagles. I tried to do some photography from my boat. I had a horrible time trying to hold focus at 200mm and proved my ineptitude as an avian photographer. If the eagle had decided to pose facing the other direction for this photo, I think the composition would be improved, but I like all the textures and the "Alaska" green. Thanks for sharing.
