I've been chasing these little blighters all over, so I'm very envious. Very sharp, and a great picture in what looks to be very harsh lighting conditions.
A fine yellowhammer. Not sure about the reflection as the top of head is slightly lost. Could have cut it off perhaps and shot horizontally on this occasion.
Thanks for your comments Mike and Mark.Mark i take your point about the the reflection but i have spent a lot of time getting it so i had to make the best of what i have got.
Thanks Keith
Lovely shot with a great pose and lots of detail. The light does seem a little harsh, but it seems quite well handled. I don't mind the reflection - it doesn't always have to be a mirror, it shows habitat and a natural drinking pool.
Works for me, in some ways the reflection seems to be an added bonus. I really should get round to shooting the pair of yellow hammers that have setup home in my garden
Thanks for looking and your comments.
Drew i am lucky to have plenty of these around me,think i am getting to grips with them but they are quite a challenge to me.
Cheers Keith.

Looks like we have a pool man in the making.
