Lone Pine
I have been really wanting to post some stuff on here but haven't had a chance to do it lately. Between processing images & upgrading computers it has been busy.

Right before spring got under way I was headed up to Pinewood Reservoir for an early morning drive and to test a 35-70mm 2.8 I just got. This tree really stood out of place. I didn't end up keeping the lens but I think the image will I will keep. C&C always welcome.

I see where you were going with this, Jim, but the hard lighting just isn't working for me. I think a subject like this requires unique lighting or weather conditions to really make it sing. Have you a tried a B&W conversion?

I like the simplicity of the shot. I also think this might look good in B&W. Maybe cropping about half of the foreground grasses off the bottom would add a little more interst (2/3 sky, 1/3 earth) and really put attention on the tree. It is a little too balanced right now IMO.
