As it turns out, babies need lots of stuff. So in preparation for the birth of my first child I have decided to sell off one of my most treasured lenses -- an EOS mount Minolta Rokkor 58mm f/1.2. I searched high and low for just the right copy of this lens and its been in my pocession for about a year. Unfortunately, I really don't use it as much as I should, and with the baby coming I could use some money for "baby stuff". This is probably one of the finest fast optics out there and at this price you can't get anything better. The one limitation of this lens is that it won't focus at infinity wide open. I describe it better here: http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/776586/0#7149555

I hate to part with it as it is capable of producing stunning images, but it just doesn't deserve to sit in my bag idle.

I see on your linked page you post a price of $485, but then mention a price drop 2x.
How much is it that you are asking currently?

Brain,
I just reached my final asking price of $455, and if it doesn't sell I will just keep it because I really hate to give this one off.
