I took this Wednesday, on a beautiful and nearly calm evening at Wilson Lake. This is at the Minooka swim beach/boat ramp for those who are familiar with the lake. I also just posted this in Man and Nature, so that a larger image could be uploaded. I used a circular polarizer for the pano, just to see if it could be done. I'm interested in what you think. Thanks for looking.
The problem with polarizers is more determined by the angle of view in the image and the direction of the sun rather than being a specific number of images stitched. It looks like you were using a long enough focal length that the polarizer effect didn't change enough across the image to notice.
Others would know more specifically about the angle of view where the change in polarization is noticeable.
Nice pano, the larger version still doesn't do it justice.
Ed hit on the very thing I was going to mention. Although you didn't state it we are assuming that this is a multi-shot stitched pano which would make a big difference in the polarization effects. It looks like the light isn't at a 90 degree angle, more along the lines of a 45 degree orientation from the right which would reduce the polarization effect even further.
A nice shot and the whispy clouds lend that summer time feeling too. Nicely done, thanks for sharing. Enjoy your weekend.
I liked this image so much I had to come back to it. With that much detail you might consider cropping a little off the top of the sky. The hillside would be a little more dominate and there is still plenty of nice cloud action.
Very nice image and I love the light. Would be nice to see it printed about 8' wide.
