Advice on 5dII file processing?

This is a bit of a problem and I wondered if either anyone had experienced it or knew of a solution?

When trying to import 5dII files into Lightroom for RAW processing, the programme is telling me that the files cannot be imported because they are either unsupported or damaged. There is no problem with files from either my 1dII or 1dsII.

Any ideas?

The error message is usualy because the Adobe RAW converter hasn't been upgraded for the new body releases and any subtle RAW file differences.

If the 5DII isn't supported yet ( I've lost track of Canon now I shoot Oly) - the solution is to convert the RAW file into a DNG files (via the Adobe DNG converter utility) then it should be recogniseable - I use the DNG converrter for all my RAW file work now as I cannot justify the upgrade from CS2 to higher versions, it doesn't seem to alter any colour balance associated with some 3rd party RAW file converters

At the moment Peter I am using the Canon DPP to convert my 5DII files and then work from there.. Not ideal but I believe CS4 (Camera Raw) works fine with the 5DII files now..

Lightroom V1.3 or 1.4 which is what you have currently, wont read 5D2 files, they're not damaged just too new for the relatively old Lr1.4, so you'll need to upgrade to Lightroom V2. Download the demo and try it to make sure, or email me a file and I'll do it - I currently have the demo of V2 running here to see if I can sook in my iView metadata.

Lightroom 2 and above supports the 5 D mk2. See here
