I should get my copy of CS4 either today or tomorrow. My new laptop that I'm going to load it into has the "new and improved" Vista. Should I expect any glitches after loading? I have already uploaded upgrades to Huey Pantone and Digital Photo Professional software to make them compatible with Vista. Thought I would check with y'all ahead of time. Thanks for any advice and if there isn't any....sweet!

Ok, I'm ignorant, what exactly is "new and improved"?

I've been running CS4 on Vista 64 for a while now without a hitch.

I'm no expert with either though.

I did have to ditch the old spyder and go for the Huey.

No problems that I know of.... I used CS4 on Vista(32bit) for at least a year and have been using it on Windows 7(64bit) for about a month with no glitches.

Michael, thanks for the the report of Windows 7 64bit working with CS4. I'm hoping to upgrade to it as soon as it's GA. I can't wait for WAYYY more memory

Pam, you didn't say whether it's Vista 64 bit or not. I just built my new system (Vista 64) and have noticed no problems with CS4. If you are running Vista 64 bit, then CS4 will install both a 32 bit and 64 bit version. Not all (most unfortunately) 32 bit plugins will work with 64 bit Photoshop. That's something to keep in mind if you have a lot of plugins.

I've had zero problems working with CS4 on Vista.
Not sure what the 'new. improved' Vista is, though.

Not sure I would recommend any serious image editing on a laptop, even if the screen is calibrated.

Yes, it is Vista 64. Good to hear there shouldn't be any conflicts. When Vista first came out, I remember hearing a lot of "Vista sucks" comments here and on other forums. I made mention of this to hubby at the time. He told the salesman when he was shopping for the laptop that he'd heard Vista was bad. Salesman said "there were so many complaints about the first generation of Vista that "they" made it more friendly to the various uses, ie, graphics, photo editing, whatever didn't work well the first time out." He said he recommends the particular laptop hubby bought because it has an uber graphics card and he always suggests this laptop to photographers. That's all I know about it being new and improved.
John, I'm not going to edit on the laptops screen, just download on the road. I hook up to my Sony monitor at home to edit
PS - the laptop is an ASUS which I had never heard of....

Asus is a great company... but I've only bought their computer mainboards  My friend has been using one of their laptops for a few years now and has had no problems with it. Goodluck with your new laptop!
