On Wednesday I took a ride out to Gunella Pass. I was there a few weeks ago and wanted to get back for sunset while the peaks still have some snow. The light wasn't what I expected but I still had a great time experimenting. There were a few flowers blooming and it was very muddy with snow patches in some spots. We managed to kill the car battery and got stranded there for a big portion of the night waiting for our friend to come from Denver to give us a jump. Needless to say we owe him big time
I think the first photo is beautiful. I like the comp very much, but the blue tones are my favorite. After looking at it for a bit, I noticed that the reflection is brighter than the actual parts, so I would suggest changing that. Thanks for sharing.
You get an A! But not for the photos. It's to put in your text as you describe GuAnella Pass.
The photos are very striking. The first two strike me as overtly blue, more so than what nature is giving you, but the comps and all are cool. The b&w looks tilted CCW, but I'm guessing that's a product of the lay of the land and not the 14 beers you had earlier in the day.
That area is legendary for the muck and mud amongst the willows. Did you find the boardwalk? It doesn't completely mitigate the challenge of walking around there, but it helps.
