More Great Blue Heron...
So, I took the family out to the rookery on Thursday evening and spent an hour or two photographing (I lost track of time, you know how it goes). After the first trip, I feel that I was able to better capture the herons by improving my technique...

I think that these two photos were both taken with an equivalent focal length of 600; the first is 1/90", f/5.6, ISO 200 on my Pentax K20D....

... while this second is at ISO 400, 1/90", f/5.6...

Enjoy,

Tim!

Well done, Tim. I like the second shot a little bit more. Of course, they both make any of my gbh shots look like the crud they are!!

Great images, I need to find me a rookery. Sure there is one around here somewhere, as many GBH as we have.

I really like the first image, Tim. Very expressive, as though everyone is waiting for lunch to come.

I like the first one. You have inspired me to visit my local rookery to see what's up.
