This is from a recent trip to the Redwoods (obviously). I had to shoot this handheld as this flower was too high for my tripod. I had to shoot really close to the flower to get this perspective (the rhodie leaves were touching the front element.

Great perspective and a very unusual way to photograph a very common subject. When I first saw this I thought it might be better with more DOF to include the top leaves of the rhodie in sharp focus. However, the more I think about it the more I prefer it this way as it helps to "focus" our attention on the blossom. Nice stuff.

 Wow! This gives me goose bumps! Masterful perspective and all the iconic elements of the Redwoods in place. Love the fog. And the rhody! Kevin, this image is a wonder.

Just a fantastic comp and capture. Superbly conceived and executed.

Love your POV here Kevin, maybe a bit darker up top.

Perfect use of a fish eye; I'm really enjoying this one.

Nicely done, Kevin. I have never been really crazy for the appearance of fish eye imagery, but this is one of those rare settings where the distortion accentuates the trees movement towards a central focal point.

Bold! Excellent POV. I do wonder how the Rhodie would look with a slight touch of reflector light.

Killer shot and I think would do very well in stock.
