In February I broke an ankle and for a while my longest hikes were from the bed to the john and back. Even though I've been off crutches for over a month now, I still can't walk very far, especially on uneven terrain, but I can drive like a son of a gun. This was taken a few weeks ago from one of the overlooks on the Talimena Scenic Drive.

Please view a larger version as well.

I bet you were slack jawed when you found you were getting above the cloud layer!

Randy - Beautiful sunrise over an ocean of clouds. Thanks for arising early to capture such beauty.

It was a sea of clouds for sure. The tip of Irons Fork Mountain, over on the right, is about five or six miles away, and Blue Mountain, in the center with the sun rising over it, is about 10 miles. It was foggier by far than I've ever seen there, and it was exciting to come up into the clear and look out over that cloud cover and then be able to take pictures for the next couple of hours as the morning unfolded.

Thanks for all your comments.

This moody image is right up my alley Randy. A lovely moment made all the better by your recent setback. Glad you were able to "rise above the clouds" and capture this image for all to see! Good luck with your recovery.
