Avocet in late evening light

After photographing the Little Ringed Plover, I also got the opportunity to photograph some avocets. I took several pictures, but I liked the one in late evening light best.
Unfortunately, the catchlight in the eye is barely visible, due to compression.
Nikon D80, 300 mm + 1.4 conv., iso 200, F 6.3, 1/1600 sec (ground pod)

I always find avocet eyes difficult. Nice composition, with a great reflection.

Very nice image Sandra. The evening light, it would have been even better if the bird had faced into the light for you.

Love the angle and the reflection is a real bonus
