We've had cloudy, cool, wet weather over here in the San Juans for the last 3 weeks. The snow is also melting sooner than usual, I'd say, so I'm thinking (hoping) that the flower season will come a little bit earlier than usual this summer.
I saw a bunch of little tundra flowers up around 12,000 feet on a hike yesterday. In the forest it's very green but not really any flowers yet.
I was up in Westcliffe just yesterday, and there were lots of wild Iris, paintbrush, and other assorted wildflowers along CR160 heading up towards Hermit Road. Unfortunately, the fields are fenced off on both sides of the road, limiting the shooting options. My wife needed to get back home before it got too late in the evening, so I didn't have much time to explore other areas.
Speaking of Westcliffe, I've never shot there...anyone have any tips (time of day, etc) they'd like to share?
Go along 14 east of Ft Collins and the primroses are a white carpet as far as the eye can see.

I saw the same conditions along 160 last Wednesday Bob. Had my eyes peeled for wild iris and was very frustrated to see massive fields of them behind private property fencing as you said I turned off just south of Westcliffe towards Rosita but saw many wildflowers along the way. Saw lots of golden banner heading south towards Rye south of 96.
