Back to the Hills
The Alabama Hills, that is. I've lost track of how many times I've been there over thirty years, yet I still find interest in camping and photography.

The sky was doing a variety of things, and while it looked cool, I'm not sure that it works in this photo. Looks more like a developing error, but that 's the way it was.

I don't think the sky looks like a developing error. I like the contrast between the clouds and the clear sky and how it extends the strong vertical lines in the FG. And the FG itself is interesting. Comp and processing looks very good. Sorry I can't put my finger on why, but for some reason this image doesn't wow me as a lot of your other work. It works but doesn't wow.

Do you have a color version of this?

Looks like some sort of alien transport beam with a few aliens coming or going. I like it but the sky does have a questionable feel to it Jeffrey.

Nice foreground and rocks. Sky does look a bit weird. Must have been cool to behold.

Nice composition! I don't remember seeing anything like it out there in all my years of wandering about those rocks. I agree about the sky having a unusual look. I would have loved to seen those cloud formations centered and the smooth gradient near the edges of the frame. Still a nice find though.

An excellent look at one of the many amazing rock formations in the Alabama Hills. Like you Jeffrey, I have lost count of how many times I have been to this area over the years. It truly never seems to wear out for photo ops.
