Need some help...
While on location I worked on this comp for a while, waited for the light, etc. and really tried to get it right.

I don't think it works.

I would really like to hear your thoughts on this... what works, what doesn't. This might be something I try again, differently, in the future.

Thanks in advance for your comments!! :toast:

Sorry I didn't get you any Gorge updates - on my week off it was 90's and sunny bright, so I didn't even bother.. are you thinking it might be a little right heavy? that is my first impression.. but otherwise nice atmosphere and exposure..

I think the immediate FG branch in the URC is a distraction, otherwise from a compositional standpoint all else looks good to me. From a processing standpoint is looks a little brown/tannish on my monitor and lacking in contrast (perhaps it's time to recalibrate mine).

It looks okay on the comp to me except for the biggest leaves in the urc. Color looks flat even for mist/fog. OTOH there is a lot of moisture in the air by the look of it so maybe this was the color of the day. Does this image look true to the color as you remember it on location?
Seems like getting the angle on a good comp might be really challenging. I think this is a good effort. Definitely worth trying again!

Other than the prominent branch in the URC distracting the view, it looks good. If it were me I'd move in about 4 feet if possible and try that, too.

I'd like to see more rhododendron flowers and have them a little bigger.
