Another view from just below Six Finger Falls. This one is my favorite. Nothing beats the adrenaline of standing in the flow with both hands on the tripod praying that you do not slip on the slick rocks under foot. And how do I describe the thought process that views the rather large piece of wood that seems to be floating so slowly downstream in your general direction...aaaaaannnnnndddddddd..as it approaches your general area it is picking up steam and getting more in line with you annnnnddddd OMG I better move all this stuff real quick cause that baby is a guided missile right for my tripod! Just missed it. Ain't nature grand.

Very funny account of how fun nature photography can be!
And hey you got the image too. Sounds like a great day to me!

Tom Kennon introduced me to this place during the fall outing last year. It looked to me like a place that one could spend a good deal of time looking for interesting and compelling compositions.
A log bearing down on you threatening to run you down Bob? That's a hazzard you don't hear of every day as a nature photographer!
I would not say a log.....about 8 inches diameter and about 2 feet long...even so could have been a problem! The only other time I visited this spot the water was high enough that all but the large boulders were under water. In fact, I BELIVE that I was with Tim in a workshop when he took the image of Six Finger that he put in his recent landscape book.
