Common Tern 2
Another shot of a Common Tern skimming water, really enjoyed this early morning session with the Terns, although hand holding 16lb of lens and camera wasn't fun...

1DMK111 600mm
1/4000 @ F4.5 EC 0 ISO320

Thanks for looking.

I much prefer this to your earlier shot Anthony. The positioning of the bird gives more of a sense of anticipation.

Hi Tony,

Another good one, even more so considering the combination was handheld.

lovely shot and timing, may be my eyes but is it on a slant?

I prefer this one too Tony - just up from the water suits the shot better than tucked in.

It looks on a slant because of the ripple lines running 2 o' clock to 7 o' clock on the water I think - the broken line of water is level I'm sure.

A good morning it seems.

Thanks everyone... Difficult to get the comp right with these sorts of shots, as Mark has pointed out with the ripples... Might need a tad of CCW rotation I think....

Thanks for the input, much appreciated...

This one for me too Tony (not that the previous shot was bad of course), it has a nicer 'rhythm' to it. Well processed too.

Cheers,
Chris

Impressive shot and such rich beautiful colours.

I've lost count the number of times I've tried to get a shot like this. Nice one. Very jealous.
