Dipper feeding bullhead to chick
20D, 400mm + 1.4, ISO 400, 1/400sec, f5.6, tripod, baghide, FF
Well, another successful year for the Dippers down here in Devon - no nest interference and both nests I watched fledged successfully for the 4th year in a row! one nest had a single chick (which they always seem to have) whilst this parent had 3 out of 4 fledglings survive. Watched them taking turns to be fed - wonderful experience, 3 or 4 mouthfuls to the noisy chick, then off to a quiet one for their turn. Amazingly, after swallowing this bullhead the chick instantly started calling for more! I could almost hear the parent muttering something about ungrateful offspring...
All comments welcome as ever, slightly soft I know and doesn't compress well but what do you think?
Cheers
Mark
