Hi,

Still hectic at the moment but had a day off yesterday, after tending my wifes grave and taking my car in for an estimate for damage repairs I packed the camera in the boot as the rain had ceased and the sun was starting to poke through.

Spent the rest of the afternoon looking for damsels and dragons, butterflies and orchids here is one that follows on from my previous posting of a teneral of the same species here with full adult colour.

All the best

Phil

Hi Phil

Great shot! There are some really top quality Odonata images on here and this is no exception.

Just out of interest, am I right to assume that foliage around these subjects is 'gardened'. I ask because whenever I come across dragons and damsels they are surrounded by dense vegetation.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris...

I do little if any gardening, this image is in situ I search for subjects that are perched relatively in the open with a clean bg, it takes longer but is worth it... most of the time if try to garden around them they will fly, however when you walk through an area with a lot of them you will disturb them and there is a good chance that one will settle on a suitable perch, I then use the old fashioned stalking method of moving closer very slowly taking images all the time...
