Prairie Smoke
The first wildflower to bloom in the Hoffman Hills prairie each year is Prairie Smoke. This was taken earlier in the week.

Comments welcome.

Certainly an interesting flower. Prairies are such a wonderful place for flower/macro photography...often overlooked.

I have seen images of these but never caught one in the wild. Looks good to me.

This is rally sweet! I love the composition and the way the 'prairie smoke' wafts in the wind. I would consider punching up the colors and/or contrast a bit to give it a bit more punch and make use of the nice, subtle color combination here. Well seen and well executed!
