Never have i wished for an overcast day as much as i did today, the problem that i've got with these greens is that they are always in shadow and trying to get the shot i want gives an over powering background when the sun is out. tomorrow morning the sun is in so im gonna try again. thanks for looking

Great shot Lea, I quite like the background really suits the bird.

Looks good to me Lea, better than any of mine Stick at it
Nice image - look forward to seeing one when the light is right. You should have quite a few more days as the young will be popping their heads out well before they fledge!

Very nice Lea, you could always tone that background down a bit in post processing. Green woodpeckers seem adept at picking nesting sites in deep shadows. Good luck with the weather for the next session.
I like this as is. The green on the bird and in the background compliment each other. Try a Better Beamer on your flash if you want to throw in a little more light.
