Whilst out with Bill M.....
The past week or so Bill Meikle and I have been hitting the wildlife photography hard, primarily birds (and Coyotes as you see from his post). Bird photography has been a fun learning experience for me, and quite rewarding. I'll post a few of the best ones below, the first one is a Wren entering the nest with food.
P.S. Those 2 bright spots to the left of the Wren's tail are distracting, I was meaning to fix those but forgot before posting this one!.

You did a great job Nick, lots of perspiration pays off. Not to mention the mosquitoes!

Very nice variety of birds. I really like the baby owl and Kingbird.
What focal length are you using?

Bill P, these were all shot with a Canon 20D (for the APC sensor) and Canon 100-400mm IS L lens, @400mm, with some cropping in on most shots.

Those are all fantastic. Yes the background needs to be darker in the first one, and the Osprey needs a reflector on his underside, but the comps are all really good.

Great shots! I like the young owl. The osprey is pretty nice as well.

Great work, Nick. Love them all, but my faves are the wren and kingbird shots. It looks like you had a good week and spotted a nice variety.

All well done nick. A real nice selection of the birds.

Need to consider upgrading to a lens with more reach so you can use your 5DII and not have to crop.

Exceptional Nick. I love the owl and the wren with the bug. Wonderful work.

You've got a knack for birds, Nick. These are great! #2 is my favorite. I think lightening up just the Osprey a bit would really make the image sing.

Very cool, you've been busy this spring, getting that many quality shots of so many different species. Especially liked the wren and the owl.
