I did a 10 days backpacking trip through one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the world - Peru's Cordillea Huayhuash. I have been dreaming to do this for a long time and finally I made it. It was a very productive trip photographically too

I just uploaded all the photos in my website (see the link below with my signature). I will post some of the shots in the forum here, but I thought that many of you will like to see them as a set.

I will give more inromation and plan to write an article here for NPN about the area - so stay tuned.

Thanks a lot and let me know any comment/suggestion

Arnab,

You have a very nice collection of images from Peru! I was particularly drawn to the images taken from the west side of the range. They brought back many fond memories of my own trip there in 1975 to climb the west face of Yerupaja, which was at that time, unclimbed. But, that's another story!

One image in particular startled me. It was of Salteracocha below Nevado Rondoy. I saw that the glacier has retreated to a great degree. When I was there, the glacier was calving icebergs into the lake!

It looks like you had a wonderful and productive time! Good for you! The Huayhush is one of this Earth's great wonders in my opinion.

Thanks for sharing,

-Preston

Preston: You are right. The glaciers are retreating quickly. I like to make a few more trips before they are gone
