Soft light Cape Kiwanda
From an evening shoot a few weeks back. This is definitely an iconic viewpoint, however I usually see dramatic images with pounding surf against the sandstone. The surf was certainly up this particular evening but I chose a long exposure to match the soft light. Intentionally kept the colors subdued to accentuate the dreamy feel.

C&C always welcome!

This is pretty nice.....at various tides you can find a million different comps in and around this area...... I think this one would be just killer with a nice soft full moon up there! :toast:

The wave action is very nice as is the warm/cool contrast...that touch of pink/magenta in the sky adds alot. I would be tempted to increase the brightness of the cliff a little??

Bryan,

Very nice composition and wave acton. I've always wanted to go there but haven't put the trip together yet. Do you get to this location by starting by the Pelican Brewery and going up over the first big sand dune? Or is there an easier and more direct route?

Thanks for sharing.

Phil

Love the soft muted colors, like your choice of shutter speed. This would make a great wallhanger Cliff!

I like the shot a lot. I would be tempted to try an increase in levels getting the brighter levels to pop just a tad more. If you use ACR 5.3 an increase on the Parametric Curve "Lights" often does the trick very nicely and loss-less too. Don't think it needs much though. A subjective call.
