I'm wondering if others can recommend free portfolios sites to post photos, like redbubble.com or flickr? I've had a web site up for a long time so I'm not looking for this as my main web site ... just looking to have a few photos displayed in more places.

If this has been discussed before, feel free to just point me to that topic, as I haven't been on this forum much.

Thanks!

I notice you have a Facebook account. Be careful and read the fine print of any of the "free" sites. I took all my images off Facebook as the fine print gives FB the right to use any image for free for anything they want to use it for. This license is in effect as long as the image is on the site.

Hey Grant, I use www.pbase.com for my site, it's not free but at $23.00 a year it's almost free. It's a photography site that has thousands of photographers that can interact and view each others images.

If you're looking for exposure, you should check some of the traffic monitoring sites to compare the exposure offered by any sites you're considering. The last time I looked, the traffic on Flickr pretty much blew every other site away.

You can get a free Flickr account, but if you want stats and more than 200 pictures visible, you'll have to get a pro account for US$25. However, be warned that, according to the TOS, you cannot engage in overt commercial/promotional activity on Flickr.

Nevertheless, potential customers who see work they like can get in touch and you can negotiate sales. On the other hand, a lot of people complain about pictures being stolen from Flickr, so make sure you only upload small, low-res pictures in the open. A lot of people have started watermarking them too.
