Tengmalms owl in forest
In an attempt to include some of the forest habitat, I cajoled a colleague to support me astride a 20' ladder whilst I balanced precariously from up on high. I liked the angle but not the experience!

Canon 5dII, 17-40mm lens, ISO200

Good one and worth the associated risks, he says sat comfortably in a chair, firmly on the ground

Like Mark, it is the expression on the owl's face that makes this one for me.

Nice, Pete,

I hope you didn't have to wait too long for the owl to pop his head out. The perspective is great.

Brilliant expression on the Owl's face. Congratulations you deserve it after going through that. I have vertigo so don't think I will try it

Excellent! There's something about your work that demands a second and a third look - it keeps getting better each time.

I've just hired a 30ft scaffolding - unfortunately to paint the house
