Lightning
Wakened at 2am by a good thunderstorm so....

This is a combo of 7 shots.

D300, f8, 30secs, ISO200, 17mm focal length

I need to work on it some more but thought you'd like to see what goes on when we are sleeping, yawn..

Woke us up too, boy was the thunder cracking!. Glad you got up to shoot it - Mad Dogs and Scottishman and all!. I would maybe darken the sky a little, apart from that a nice combo of shots combined!.

You live in a crazy neighborhood, Bill

Question - in this case is it better in black and white?

Color best, Don't you worry about getting struck? Great capture tho. Love it. I want to capture some lightening strikes, but I am scared of getting hit by lightening. Where were you when you captured this? In your house, car, or standing in your yard? :

Nice capture, and I think both color and b&w work. Good work on the combo, too.

Yikes!

Both versions work well.

Great stuff Bill! I prefer the BW but might brighten the whites a tad to help the bolts stand out a bit more.

I was inside the house Jackie, shooting through the window which was exciting enough without going outside!

Wow, very cool shots! Glad you were inside instead of outside.
