Spent some time out on the prairie this weekend...my first visit to the Pawnee National Grasslands area. I really enjoyed it. These Prairie Primrose were especially abundant between Ault and Briggsdale - almost like snow covering the pastures.

I'm in Ft. Collins right now, having just spent the night out at the Buttes and shot these flowers, too. Were you there yesterday? What do you drive? I probably saw you.
I'm waiting to see what kind of storms fire up this afternoon, then heading out to try to get some of these flowers with more interesting sky. I really like your shot, Jamie. Prairie spring defined!

And, finally, the Buttes...I didn't actually hike down to them...there were cows along the trail..and well, let's just say I'm afraid of cows...

Thanks for sharing Jamie! Yes, the primroses are out of this world. I've never seen anything like them. Must have been a "perfect primrose storm"
Looks like another afternoon of dramatic weather.
My wife and I spent 30 minutes parked under an overpass yesterday, waiting for a hailstorm to pass. So, I hope you guys and your vehicles survive.
Remarkable conditions and thanks for sharing these - my naturalist friend Stephen Jones says this is the best year in the last 20 for priairie wildflowers! Great work!
Thanks for the nice comments, everyone. The trip is already paying off. I have requests for 3 of these images from my two best customers (mom and my neighbor - what can I say...I'm not so good at networking!)

Very nice images! I really like #'s 1 and 4.
And don't worry about the cow thing, we are all afraid of something. I hate clowns.
