Common Blue Butterfly
40D, 180/3.5, tripod + BH1
ISO200, 1/250 @ f4.5 for all 4 frames
ACR5.3 + CombineZM for 4 frame focus stack.
resize + sharpen CS4

Hi,

Continuing the butterflies. here is a male Common Blue sunning itself, an image I have been after for a while... a focus stack of 4 images taken in an all too brief moment when the wind wasn't gusting, should have been 5 images but it took flight

All the best

Fantastic - I wish that they would stay still for 4 frames for me  It really leaps off the background

Great processing, Phil. I really need to master stacking. Even if you did lose your last shot, it seems that a stack of four is sufficient if this image is anything to go by.

nicely done Phil, they're not always too co-operative when they're sunning themselves like this. I like the almost 3D look.

Hello Phil.

Nice capture and good detail.

Seems the four shots were just right to keep all the detail you needed.
