June 15th was Nature Photography Day and to celebrate, the North American Nature Photographers Association (NANPA) asked their members to photograph some nature wherever they were on Monday. So I took this snapshot in my front yard. Nothing spectacular, but it felt good to help celebrate Nature Photography Day! Hope you all had a good one! (I would have wished everyone a happy Nature Photography Day on Monday, but mother nature thought Manhattan needed a nasty storm with 70 mph winds that knocked out our power).

Thanks for the sentiment and reminder Scott ... I let it pass by unnoticed. Glad you were able to capture one to celebrate the occassion. And I'm glad to see that Manhattan is back up and running after that drubbing we all took the other night at the hands of mother nature.

Great work, Scott. Good job with the focus, and your subject is in an interesting pose. Have any idea what's going on there?
Randy: I don't know what this bug was, but every time I moved in close to photograph it, it would turn around and raise its back end at me. Either it was trying to scare me off, turn me on, or let me know what it thought of me photographing it!
