Some days ago I found this network, and considered to join. Now it's done !
My name is David Grimardias, living between Southwest (Bayonne) and Center (Auvergne) in France. I'm 28, and finishing my PhD in behavioural ecology (effect of environment on reproductive success of breeding tactics in Atlantic salmon). In the same time, I've been hired as Research Program Chief by an international association for scientific education of children.
Concerning photography, my father learned me the basis long time ago. Since january 2008, I passed to digital photography and spent more time in this passion.
I usually doing more animals, waterscapes (I am particularly practicing low-shutter speeds) and trying landscapes and macro (I'm waiting for an ordered macro lens ).
My material is quite simple : Canon Eos Rebel XTi (400D), 18-55mm IS and 70-300mm IS USM Canon lenses (and I will receive in coming days a EF-S 60mm f/2.8 USM Macro).
Freshly new member, I have to understand how this network works, and I will quickly submit to you some of my photo work.
Welcome to NPN David! This a great source of wonderful imagery and talent. My best advice is to engage yourself in the various galleries and forums. Don't be shy about offering your opinions on the fine work here.
From one behavioural ecologist (my specialty is avian communication and territoriality) to another - welcome to NPN! I think Lon gave some solid advice - the more you put into NPN the more you'll get out of it.
Cheers and looking forward to seeing your work and comments/opinions...
