Twin Lakes Area
Hi everyone. How ya all doing? I've been really busy the last couple of weeks, so haven't had a chance to post or comment. Had some free time tonight after work, so thought I would post a shot from a trip on 5/31 to the twin lakes area. I had never been here before, so thought I would check it out. This was taken around 6:30 a.m. I know...too late for that nice alpenglow...we had great intentions of getting out there and set up before sunrise...but got delayed at the gas station in Leadville trying to get the friggen' machine to work & the store wasn't open yet, so we had to find another gas station. Arrgh lol. Oh well. Anyway, here's the original shot (with a bit of the sky cropped out). I don't know if I like this one or the next one posted better. The next one is a further crop from the original. Let me know what you think.
Another version posted over on ESS.

Sony DSLR A-100, 18mm, 1/40, F8, ISO 100.

Of your two version posted here I prefer your original!. I like the light, and how the bottom bank frames the scene!. You could possibly bring out a little more detail in the foreground, very pretty scene!.

I agree with Nick.
Nicely composed! I like the way the two bushes in the foreground complement the peaks (and their reflections).

Another ditto for Nick. These are nice.

A very pretty scene, Kelly. I prefer #1. I would like to see a bit more detail in the foreground though.

I agree with Paul. Nicely composed, but a GND or braketing exposures for HDR might have been helpful to pull more detail out of those shadows in this case.

Another vote for # 1. I like the foreground as is; just my personal taste.

Yeah, definitely #1. Twin Lakes rocks!

Nice shots, Kelly. I like 1 also. And I'm with Stan, Twin Lakes is a magnificent place.

I concur on the original being the better of the two. All in all very sweet.
