Fight! -and another one
Had great fun with the Greater Spotted this month in the garden. Two pairs with two chicks. They spend more time fighting than eating.
These are two males at it. Big crop off a horizontal

Thanks all Appreciated.

You are absolutely right. I set it up in that way on a thin perch just to get the fight stuff so I thought I might as well leave it as it was, as it was pretty obvious.

Hello John.

I think this is a cracking shot and you have captured the moment well.

But !!!!! and I hope you will forgive me. I'm not keen on the fat showing and also the tape at the bottom of the stick. I dont mind in the least if its a setup as the image is very pleasing to view. And feel you have gone to the troudle of getting the image and then just not finished it off, Which would have only taken a couple of minites in PS or what ever program you are using.

Sorry for going on but I like the image and feel it would be better with out the fat and tape.

It is a good shot John :wavey:

Nits covered - if you lived close by I'd lend you my 'Big Dog' and you could have another go with some better control of the background bokeh..

Thanks all.
Interesting comments.
Andy - I wanted something of a background in the picture, and in any case the site is restricted in many ways as to what and where you can put stuff and the hides.
Guy- I never noticed the tape, and I,m not sure why its there as the tree branch is in the ground.
Probably left over from some distant excercise.
Cheers
John

Love the behaviour captured here John and the sunlit background on the first image makes for a very attractive backdrop. The visible food is a shame, as mentioned, but the action and setting is great.
