Went down a few side roads yesterday while out in the Mojave and got a little lucky and found an arch that I'll have to come back out to photograph when the sun is lower on the horizon.
Cool find Steve. This image really shows what you will have to work with. Not saying a day time shot doesn't show it in all its glory, but I really look forward to what you can do with it when the sun is in the right spot.
I too will be interested in the view later in the day. Luck was also with you regarding the sky.

Eric, it would have to be a boyscout fire this is on top of a slope so no easy duraflame logs. That is a good idea though and I'll have to credit you on that.
If I get a chance to spend a night out there before it gets too hot chances are good I'll come back with something. It can be shot at sunrise and sunset. It overlooks a small valley from behind this viewpoint. Sort of like Mesa Arch but not as good and more room to stand on the steep side.
