Of the green heron variety, hope you were not expecting something more lascivious.

These are very recently hatched.

As always, a larger version is available on my Web site, www.OzarksPhotos.com

Larry - Great find. They are a bit late, but there is still the rest of summer to get 'em raised up! Looking forward to a series of these . . . if you can get back to the nest on a regular basis.

Thanks Dan,

Pretty convenient, and I have another nest that mom is still sitting on. Should be hatching any day I imagine, going over to check shortly. It is even more convenient.

Cute little guys (or gals).

Thanks Ed and Scott. We have already seen on hatch from different parents grow from about this size to flying. Last night we saw all five of that hatch chasing each other around the lake they were raised on. Very active youngsters.

Just an incredible shot, Larry. Love the down feathers that give a nice "glowing" effect. Beautiful work! :toast:

Thank you Bill. No idea why but we seem to be the green heron capitol of MO right now. One pair has just hatched their second crop, another pair is building a new nest and then there is the nest in this photo, all within a mile of where I live.

Very nice work Larry. It all that much nicer when you have this type of target within a mile of your house. Thanks for sharing!
