Got lucky with this individual, it stayed put despite my best attempts to scare it away through clumsiness! Perhaps a touch large in the frame?

C&C welcome.
Cheers,
Chris

Not the easiest beast to approach Chris.

The yellow antihumeral stripes look a bit over exposed but a nice capture especially so early :wavey:

Hello Chris.

Nice find and a good capture.

I've been photographing Dragonflies for along time now and I still have'nt got one of these so well done.

Hi Chris

very bright image, and a very difficult species to work with so a great result

Andy, this is one from last July - I was inspired to post it due to my first sighting of the species this year at work!! (we have a pond on campus). The (normally) lemon bars on the thorax where lacking in pigment hence the 'overexposed' look.

As a few of you have said, this is (normally) a difficult species to work - I got lucky with 3 individuals that seemed to be (unusually) preoccupied with fighting over territory.

Cheers,
Chris
