I was thinking today about features on cameras, does anyone know if any cameras have this type of feature.

I thought it would be cool, if you could select TWO areas on the image, With the control pad, one would be your focus point. and first exposure, the second you could place on the back ground or sky for example.
Then when you shoot the subject the camera automatically takes two pictures with one shutter press, your subject first, then the second one on the second point, exposing correctly for this.
you could then blend both exposures in PS, to get the perfect image.
this would save the hassle of having to take a second picture and moving your exposure or manually adjusting settings..

dunno.. perhaps i am going mental  but i thought it sounded a good idea.

It's called auto exposure bracketing and most SLRs have had this function for this function since the 1990s.

yes know about that, but the above would take the correct exposure at both points, or multiple points. not just 3 shots with + and - exposure..

it would be like bracketing, but with accurate exposure recordings.

I would like to see selectable focus point bracketing to use in conjunction with "focus stacking" of images.

A return of eye-controlled A/F as Canon have had on the EOS 3 and EOS 5 film bodies. or I would like to have the focus point selection "toggling" on the first press of the shutter release button.

I would like an in-viewfinder digital "spirit level", or bettter still a self levelling sensor, this could be cleverly acheived by having a shutter and lens throat slightly bigger than the sensor and the self levelling mechanism could be integrated with the sensor cleaning system mechanics.

Canon dropped the eye focus for the digital range, stating it wasn't a popular feature, personaly I loved it on my 30e and would love it back.

Pentax now sell a body with HDR exposure bracketing it shoots three frames in quick succession automatically and blends the exposure in camera but the exposure points are not selectable. You achieve the same result by exposure bracketing and doing HDR merge post processing. Fine for landscape/static shots but useless for action shots
