Redstart -plus other background
This years site was a pain with the light. Bright trees in the background and the birds in shade.
Must have binned 300 shots.
Took DaveK's advice and did them lower down with the background in shade. They didn't land on the stumps too often but it got rid of the backlight problem. Managed enough keepers.

A cracking shot John love the assorted prey items shown to perfection.

Thanks.
It was interesting to see the prey items and 90 % were crane flies(daddies) and the area was generally wet.
This visit though had caterpiller and centipede at least.
( I binned all the ones with mealworms of course !!biggrin:   :

excellent John, the centipede and caterpillar are a nice bonus.

Hi John, Great shot and pose. Personally I find the BG a little disturbing.

A very nice portrait, B.G. a tad busy/intrusive even tho’ it is relatively distant, otherwise well worked and taken.

I agree with Ray about the background, but other than that it's a lovely picture.

Thanks for your comments. Here's one showing the background at normal height , which I personally didn't like. With the sun out the exposure was all over the place.
