Hi,

I have a weeks visit to Weybourne, Norfolk planned from next weekend. Would appreciate any tips for good places to visit, I have a few in mind Cley, Blakeney, maybe Titchwell. Is Sculthorpe worth a visit?

Cheers

Hi Kev,

I may well be in North Norfolk for a short break from Tuesday the 30th to Saturday the 4th.

Not sure what I will be doing photography wise yet, but if you fancy meeting up let me know. If you want shots of Barn Owl's you cannot fail in this area, they are pretty much anywhere. Not sure about Sculthorpe never been there, Pensthorpe is good for wildfowl etc, it also has a little enclosure you can go in and has Bearded Tits amongst other interesting species. As you are staying near Holt, it's well worth popping into David Tipling's gallery in Holt and taking a look at his work.

Regards

I know the area very well, but it depends on what you're after - can you be more specific ? It's likely to be quite busy at this time of year, so early starts and evenings would be best.

Snettisham is worth the drive (and walk) - but again, try to get there at dawn which will be tough at this time of year I know, but worth the effort.

The places you've mentioned and those mentioned by Rob are all pretty good.

Chrs

Cheers, Rob - It would be good to meet up, I'll PM some details over to you before I set off.

Graham - Would love to see Barn Owls, KF and Bearded Reedlings, Hares but in reality anything will do. Getting up early is tough for me but if I've got specific reason/location then I can usually manage it. Up there with the family so was thinking of a few early morning forays and then getting back to spend so time with them.

Once again Thanks for responding.

Not seen KF's, but, try East Bank for Beardies. They are at Titchwell, but it can be very busy indeed there.

For Hare, take slow drives through the back roads behind the A149. You'll see them through the entrances to fields as long as the crops aren't too high.

Early and late for Barnies and as Rob said, they are all over the place.

Have a great time !
